Geographical Location
Changsha is located in northeast of Hunan province, the lower reaches of Xiangjiang River and the west edge of Chang Liu Basin. It is in 111¡ã53¡äE¡«114¡ã15¡äE? and 27¡ã51¡äN¡«28¡ã41¡äN. Changsha, granted the name of ¡°the lip and teeth of Jingchu and Henan and the throat of Guizhou and Guangdong¡±, is bordered by Zhejiang and Jiangxi to the east, Sichan and Guizhou to the west, Jingchu to the north and Guangxi and Guangdong to the south. It is 230 kilometers from east to west and 88 kilometers from south to north. The city covers an administrative area of 11800 square kilometers and urban area of 556 square kilometers. Changsha is composed by 5 districts including Furong, Tianxin, Yuelu, Kaifu and Yuhua, 3 counties including Changsha, Wangcheng and Ningxiang Town as well as Liuyang City. |

Transportation |
Changsha, as an important transportation hub in central region, is endowed with smooth and convenient transportation. There is excellent modern solid transportation network of water, land and air. Both river and sea are easy access.

| Advanced railway and highway transportation
Changsha is one of important hubs among China railway transportation. There are s Beijing-Guangzhou railway, Huangnan-Guizhou railway, Luoyang-Zhanjiang railway and Changsha-Shimen railway toward all directions.
Changsha is also one of highway network hubs in China. There is Beijing-Zhujiang highway, Changsha-Changde highway, Changsha County-Yong¡¯an County highway and106, 107, 310 National Highway. 14 provincial highways and 106 county highways gather here. Expressway here amounts to 193 kilometers.Grade highway amounts to3361 kilometers. Highway density is 42.74 km per 100 square kilometer; however, the long-distance highway for container is deficient.
